Mickey Boardman

A popular fixture on the New York social scene PAPER Magazine’s Editorial Director Mickey Boardman is a man of many talents. His vivacious nature and quirky personality have landed him gigs as a cultural commentator, lifestyle expert and fashion guru for networks like VH-1, A & E, Style Channel, E! and Fox News. Boardman hails from Hanover Park, Illinois and moved to New York to study Fashion Design at The Parsons School of Design. Today Boardman’s advice column “Ask Mr. Mickey” has become a PAPER Magazine fan favorite for the past 15 years. His writing has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Out and German Vogue. As an influential tastemaker Boardman has been featured in books like Smile i-D: Fashion & Style, 20 years of I-D Magazine, Simon Doonan’s Eccentric Glamour and Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, Look: Portraits Backstage at Olympus Fashion Week. A philanthropist as well, Boardman has been active in many charitable efforts including Doctors Without Borders, Coalition for the Homeless and Red Cross earthquake relief for Haiti and Chile. Boardman is most passionate about Citta which builds schools, clinics and women’s cooperatives in India and Nepal.
